- Sheriff for Somerset November 17, 1514 and November 9, 1529. He was knighted at the battle of Flodden Field on September 9, 1513 (The Scots were defeated, losing some 10,000 men in the battle.) He was a member of the jury that indicted the Duke of Buckingham for treason (The Duke was beheaded, the fifth successive chief of the house of Stafford to meet a violent death).
