Notes |
- Olive Maxine Milburn Carney Manning was born and raised in the Denver, Colorado area. Shortly after graduation from high school she met her future husband, J. B. Carney.
Actually she met J. B. Carney at a halloween party at her church. (J. B. was the body in the coffin that would appear to be dead, but would come to life and frighten everyone.) Olive and J. B. dated and married, and one week before the first anniversary of their wedding, daughter Carol was born.
The family moved from Denver to Wichita, Kansas where four more children were born. In 1960 the family again moved, this time to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Olive and J. B. divorced in 1965.
Two years later Olive met and married Oscar Manning. The marriage lasted only a few years and ended in divorce.
Olive spent the remaing years of her life living in Oklahoma City. She worked and retired from the Oklahoma State Employment Security Commission. Church was always an important part of Olive's life and she attended Springdale Baptist Church where she had many friends.
In December 2004, Olive was on her way to sing with her church choir at a local nursing home, when, as she was crossing the street was struck by on on-coming car and was killed instantly.
