Roy Richard Bartz, 82, of 9485 Wolf Creek Road, Hubbard Lake, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Tendercare ? Alpena.
Roy was born in Alpena County on March 9, 1932 to the late Edmund and Martha Helene (Borke) Bartz. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict; and, on June 29, 1957, he married the former Marlene M. Siewert at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Roy had been employed at Besser Company until an injury in 1983 caused his retirement.
Mr. Bartz was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and a former treasurer for Boy Scouts of America Troop 35.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene; 3 children, Steve (Robbe) Bartz of Grand Rapids, Scott Siewert Bartz of Ann Arbor, Suelyn Bartz of Alpena; 3 grandchildren, Eric of Greenwood, Indiana, Lisa of Grand Rapids, Ryan of Grand Rapids; a sister, Carolyn (Joseph) Schrader of Fort Myer, Florida; a brother, Gordon (Judy) Bartz of Hubbard Lake; sister-in-law, Donna (Duane) Malburg; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Margaret Siewert; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Balogh.
Roy married Marlene M. SIEWERT on 29 Jun 1957 in Alpena County, Michigan. Marlene (daughter of William Carl SIEVERT, Siewert and Margaret Pauline SCHALKOFSKI) was born on 16 Oct 1938 in Michigan; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
