Notes:

Alfred apparently left her and children with plenty of property, all the kids have money in 1860.

Census records of 1850 (as transcribed) show Eliz. is 38 yrs. old. She would have been born in 1812...which means at time of marriage in 1822 she was only 10. Clearly an error. The 1860 census reports age 53 - more reasonable birthdate of 1807, still only 15 when wed.

Earliest deed referring to John Burt Jr. and Sr. is in 1771 - presumably that would make Jr. born abt. 1750 (to be 21 yrs. old).

John Burt (b. cir 1750) sold land to his father, John Burt Sr. who died in 1780 in Chatham Co., NC.

Presumably, after the death of John BURT, then referred to as Sr., in 1780 - this John BURT, previously recorded on deeds as "Jr." then changed to "Sr.", probably when his own son John BURT was old enough to sign documents. (Son b. abt 1780 would be 21 in 1801)

John married Priscilla SENTER, Hardy about 1778 in Wake County, North Carolina. Priscilla (daughter of Stephen W. SENTOR and Susan Leigh STEPHENS) was born in 1760 in Wake, North Carolina, British Colony; died in 1820 in Fuquay-Varina, Wake County, North Carolina. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

There is no proof that Priscilla's last name is SENTER. There is a SENTER family in Wake Co. in the 1790 NC census.

With a son named HARDY, I would more likely bet that Priscilla's maiden name might be that. Also, two grandsons used the name "William HARDY BURT"
