    Notes:

    James and his brother, John Parker, moved to Fowler, NY in 1809. They were among the first group of settlers. Erminia's father and mother moved there that same year. The first wedding in the town was in 1810, when Erminia's sister Elizabeth, married James' brother, john. James moved on to the town of Gouverneur. The first death in Gouverneur was that of Erminia's father, Elijah, in 1813.

    The Parker family burial plot is located in Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur, NY, containing four hundred square feet within lot number 121. Section F. $100 paid in 1912 to keep said lot " mowed, fertilized and in thoroughly good order forever."

    James Parker died in Gouverneur, aged 92 years 11 mo 14 d. His parents, Joshua and Mary (Adams) Parker, had moved from Canterbury, CT to Gouverneur in their later years and are also buried in the Parker Family Plot.

    Notes:

    Lt. Elijah Sacket was born in Sheffield, Mass. Prior to the start of the Revolution he moved with his parents to New Lebanon, Columbia County, NY. Shortly after his marriage in 1789, he and Dorothy settled in Hartford, Washington Co. NY. Eligah was a farmer. After moving to Washington Co. He became interested in local military affairs. After serving for several years as a private and non-commissioned officer, he was commissioned first as an Ensign and later as a Lt. in Washington Co. Regiment. In 1809, Elijah, Dorothy and their five children moved to Fowler, St Lawrence Co NY. His death in 1812, was the first death in Fowler.
    I have no ex plantation why the extra 'T' was added to the names of Elijah and Dorothy's children's names. The previous generations had all used one 'T'. Sally Gustafson. Feb 1999.

    Elijah married Dorothy HITCHCOCK on 17 Jun 1789 in Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts. Dorothy was born on 17 Jun 1767 in Springfield, Hampshire Co (Now Hampton) MA; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

      Notes:

      A parchment deed, dated May 30, 1780, conveying 59 acres of land in the town of Goshen, Litchfield County, Conn., was, in 1905, in possession of Mr. Marvin Sackett, of Lebanon, NY. The grantor is Ebenezer Buell and the grantee Buell Sacket. The consideration clause reads, "given in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have and do bear unto Buell Sacket, my grandson." - [Weygant, p. 102]

      Served as a Private for New York in the Revolutionary War, Second Regiment New York Volunteers, under Colonel Philip Van Cortland. This is in the book New York in the Revolution by Roberts the Comptroller of New York State, this information is in the DAR Patriot Index - Volume III.
