2nd Wife. After first wife Milley died, Jesse remarried Sarah.
Many researchers combine all children from both marriages and attribute to Sarah Bryan.
In the 1840 Dickson County Census Jesse M. Speight is listed as head of a household consisting of 1 male 30 to 40, 2 females under 5, 2 females 5 to 10, and 1 female 15 to 20. In the Dickson County Census of 1850, Jesse M. Speight, 45, farmer, and his wife Sarah, 40, are listed as having nine children, viz.: Julia - 19, Evaline - 18, Almyra - 15, Guilford - 14, Matilda - 12, Jesse - 8, Edithy - 6, Nancy - 4, and Elizabeth - 2.
Sarah married Jesse M. SPEIGHT on 4 Apr 1841 in Robertson County, Tennessee. Jesse (son of William SPEIGHT and Sarah "Sallie" BURT) was born in 1805 in Dickson County, Tennessee; died on 19 May 1852 in Dickson County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

- Jesse B. SPEIGHT was born about 1842; and died.
- Edith S. SPEIGHT was born on 15 Jun 1845 in Dickson County, Tennessee; died on 4 May 1885.
- Nancy SPEIGHT was born in 1846 in Tennessee; and died.
- Elizabeth Paradise SPEIGHT was born on 6 Dec 1847 in Dickson County, Tennessee; died on 25 Apr 1895 in Dickson County, Tennessee.

Letter from journel of T.L. Bryan in 1881
"Asa Bryan and Edith Dias who afterwards became his wife, were born and
reared in the State of North Carolina, moved to Tenn, in 1796, and settled in
Robertson County Where they lived in peace and prosperity until 1829, When my
father died. My Mother continued to live there until 1840, when she quit the
shores of earth for that of eternity. They had ten children, six sons and four
daughters Viz;
Nancy L. Bryan, Lucy A. Bryan, Elizabeth H. Bryan, William (J.J.) C. Bryan,
Thomas C.E. Bryan, Asa N. Bryan, Sarah L. Bryan, Theophilus H. Bryan, Lewis C.
Bryan.
Lucy A. Bryan was drowned in Sycamore Creek when quite small, by accident.
The balance all lived to obtain their majority. Asa N. Bryan died in
Clarksville Tenn in the year 1835, leaving a wife and one son, the only child was
which was named after him. Thomas C.E. Bryan died in the State
of Mississippi in the year of 1836, He never married. The balance are all at
this date 1851 still living. All having married except Nancy and Theophillus.
(unknow date) Theophilus has since married... Edmund H. Bryan has since died
in Arkansaw in 1857. His widow has returned to Mississippi her former home.
This Nov 1881, all my brothers are dead and only two sisters survive, Nancy
and Sally."
Nancy died 1885.
Asa married Edith DIAS. Edith was born in in North Carolina; died in 1840 in Robertson County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
