    Notes:

    Abijah Loomis may well have been a "Regulator", that is a rebel during Shays' Rebellion in 1786. "In Berkshire County, the Loomises, Nobles, and Dodges of Egremont helped stop the court at Great Barrington." (8) After the collapse of the Rebellion he may have gone to New York and ultimately to Chenango County.
    He left Egremont, Massachusetts in 1795-96 and went to Smithville, Chenango County, N.Y. Later he moved to Greene. (1)
