    In the Name of God Amen, I, ISAAC HARRIS of Halifax County & State of North Carolina being of Sound & disposing mind & Memory do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner & form following first and foremost I recommend my Soul to Almighty God who gave it in hope of a joyful resurrection of the Same & my body to be decently buried & as to what worldly Goods it has pleased God to bestow on me I dispose of as follows, to wit:

    Item...I give & bequeath to my daughter ANNA HAWKINS, one negro girl named TAMER & one bay filly called Silver Tail to her, her heirs & assigns forever.

    Item... I also leave to my said daughter ANNA HAWKINS the sum of Twenty Dollars pr year until her son WM. HAWKINS shall arrive to the age of Seven years for the support of her Said Son WILLIAM during that time, but in case he should die under that age the same is to cease at his death.

    Item... I leave all the rest of my estate of what kind Soever to be sold by my Executors hereafter to be named at their discretion as they may think most advisable for the benefit of my said Estate & the Money arising from Such Sale to be equally divided among my nine children, Viz: PATSY WILLIAMS, BURGES HARRIS, WILLIAM HARRIS, NATHAN HARRIS, ANNA HAWKINS, ELIZABETH WILLIAMS, ISAAC HARRIS, SILAS HARRIS, & JANE PEARSON to them, their heirs & assigns forever, except my said Daughter PATSY WILLIAMS proportion of my Said estate, which I leave to be reserved in the hands of my Executors for them to administer the Same to my said Daughter as they may think her necessity requires & in case of her death, I then leave the same or what part may remain to be equally divided between all her children that may then be living to them their heirs & assigns forever & in case of the death of either of my before mentioned children I leave their proportion of Said Estate to be equeally divided among all their children that may then be living to them their heirs & Assigns forever.

    Item... I do hereby constitute & appoint my two kinsmen JAMES HARRIS and BENJAMIN HARRIS of Halifax County, my whole & Sole Executors of this my last Will & Testament revoking all wills heretofore by me made, In Witness whereof I have hereto Set my hand & Seal this 27th day of May 1807.

    Thomas Harris, Jr. (1638-1687) md Ann Martin; was father of Edward Harris

    Thomas appears not to have moved to Isle of Wight until after his father's
    death in 1672. His father bequeathed him one-half of the land on which he
    lived and requested he live upon it, and also 280 acres which he bought of
    "the Indian town." Thomas Harris received a grant in Isle of Wight of 183
    acres in 1685 (Book 7, p. 441). His will was made March 14, 1687. It was
    recorded Oct. 7, 1688 (Will Book 2, Part 2, p.285) . He was sick and weak,
    and it was signed with his mark. Edward, his eldest son, was married, but
    appeared to be living with his father. He said in his will Robert Harris was
    to live with John Fulgham three years, his son George was to live with John
    Turner four years, Martinto remain with his brother Edward Harris six
    years, son William to live with Bridgman Joyner seven years, daughter Ann
    to live with Mrs. Ann Sharpe seven years if Mrs. Sharpe shall live so long,
    Edward, executor, overseer Mr. John Fulgham and Rr. John Turner.

    Note: The Meherrin River is along today's N. C. border directly south of Richmond, VA

    John Turner was the father-in-law ie:Mary Turner's father

    George Harris (brother of Edward) was to live with John Turner from 1687 by will of Thomas Harris, Jr.

    I, GEORGE WALTON, of Brunswick County, in Virginia, knowing the uncertainty of human life and being now in perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following:
    IMPRIMIS: - I give and bequeath unto my son John Walton and his heirs or assigns forever, all that upper part of the Tract of land whereon I now live, that belongs to me; that lies on both sides of Quarrel Swamp, above that line made in presence of Burrel Cato, George Walton, Jun'r, and Thomas Walton, Beginning at a red oak tree just by Ledbetter's old path, afore & aff tree of my outside line, and so along a line of marked trees to a small red oak on the swamp side, and up the various courses of the said swamp, to the mouth of While Oak Swamp, and so up the various courses of said White Oak Swamp to Richard Ledbetter's line. Also one Negro man named Cuff, and one Negro woman named Mary, and all the children of the said Negro Mary; to him, his heirs or assigns forever.
