Edgecombe Co. Db 18, page 39, date of deed 28 Feb 1823, date recorded May Ct. 1823, Benjamin Farmer and Elizabeth, his wife, Edgecombe Co. To the heirs of John Dew, decd, viz. Mary Barnes, Jonathan Dew, John Dew, Larry Dew, David Dew, (Ferson) Ellis, (Duneaiz) Dew, Elizabeth Dew, Patsey Rountree, Sally Carpenter, Nancy Wiggins, Beady Wilkinson, all of Edge. Co. For $430, All our claim and interest we have in the lands we drew in the division of the lands of Abraham Dew, decd, our father, being lot one, containing 86 acres valued at $430, beginning at a cypress And gum in Toisnot Swamp at C and runs north 24 east along the line of lot # 2 to a black jack Then south 47 east 130 poles to a stake then south 43 west 130 poles to aforesaid swamp at ( ) Then up the various courses of said swamp to the beginning on the north side of said swamp, Signed Benjamin Farmer (X), Elizabeth Farmer, wit.
