    Notes:

    Killed by Night Riders early in Civil War with his wife Harriet to secure horses for war.

    George is found in Franklin Missouri in 1819. George and a person named Owen placed an ad in the Columbia Missouri Intelligencer about a horse they had found in Rock Fork Township of Boone County.

    Record of owning land in 1834 South West of Sedalia. On 5/14/1835 George Varner was granted the patent for the following described property: "SW Quarter of the NW Quarter, Section 12 of Township 49, Range 14 West" This land was sold in 1853 and they came to Miller County, near Tuscumba.

    Need Proof of Name/Birthplace. 1880 Census with Nancy Ann says parents born in Tenessee - conflict in memory? Death Certificate filled out by Nancy Ann Varner son Otto, states her father was Thomas Varner. First two sons were Thomas and George... is father possibly Thomas George Varner or George Thomas Varner?

    Found in 1850 Census with Nancy as 8 year old child. Occupation - Farmer.
    Harriet, wife age 39; Thomas T. son age 14; George W. son age 12; Edward son age 10; Nancy age 8 - daughter; Elizabeth Daughter age 6; Samuel son age 4; Francis son age 2.

    Found again in 1860 Tuscumbia Census. Aged 78, with wife Harriet aged 49. Son George W. aged 23, son Samuel aged 15, Son Francis aged 12, son Glenn aged 8, son John aged 5 and Cynthia aged 3... WOW! What an active guy in bed right to the end at age 74 !!
