Undated memorandum of John S. Lawrence.
"He was a practicing physician residing at Stonington, Connecticut, inthe first half of the eighteenth century. Dr. Udall was a man ofconsiderable prominence and appears to have had a large practice ineastern Connecticut and throughout Rhode Island, extending from NewLondon to Newport. He is said to have been born in England about 1690,to have come early to this country and to have married in Stonington, where all of his children were born and where he died in 1767. The listof his children are from an account book kept by him. The accounts inthe book range from 1750 to 1767. In the records of the FirstCongregational Church at Stonington, Connecticut is the following: 'Nov.17, 1734. Mr. Lionel Udall and his wife Abigail owned the covenant andsubjected themselves to ye discipline of the church and the same daytheir children, Anne, Abigail, and Lionel were baptized The laterbaptisms of Samuel, William the second, Mary and John are recorded. Theentire family moved about 1772 to Vermont, where many of the name Udall, have occupied prominent positions. (John D. Champlin in New EnglandGenealogical Register 40:330)"

John S. Lawrence has this (1690) Lionel's father, Lionel married to Annein England. I have Anne as this (1690) Lionel's first wife. P. Smith6/2000

As mentioned in James John Bill's notes, there is good reason to assume that Dorothy Bill was the sister to Richard and William Tuttle. It is assumed that Dorothy and John Bill arrived in the colonies before 1635, for we find that a boy named, John Bill age 13, came in the ship,"Hopewell" in 1635, and a girl, Mary Bill, age 11 came in the ship"Planter" with the Tuttle family. Her name following immediately after theirs. It can be assumed that Dorothy and John Bill came earlier to settle in and left their youngest children with her family to come later. However, there is no documented proof that Dorothy Bill was aTuttle, but it does seem that she is either a sister or a cousin.

"North Ingham remains a mystery after three or four years o
f research. With the help of Norman W. Ingham, PHD, CG and Contributing editor ofTAG, we know the following: There is a pew in the Old North Church withhis name on it and is pew #45, the second from the front on the left. This has been verified by my daughter and several others who have seenit. Old North Church records state he was a member of the first vestryat the church, but gives little information as to where he came from orwhen.

"Just recently Norman Ingham has checked the British Isles in the IGI(CDROM version) a North Ingham christened on 24 January 1684/85 in SaintDunstan's Stepney, London, the son of John and Elizabeth Ingham. Theonly possible John and Elizabeth in the IGI within range of the date areJohn and Elizabeth Richardson who married in Warrington, Lancashire, on 2July 1671. This couple seems to have had other children, one JamesIngham (very likely the James in Boston at the same time as North), waschristened on 13 June 1682 at Saint Dunstan's Stepney, London andRichard, christened in the same church on 17 October 1683. It seems verylikely that this couple, John and Elizabeth Richardson Ingham are theparents of North, and James and Richard are his brothers. However, it isstill to be proved."
Ref: IGI gives this birth date and refers to him as "of Chelsea,England."
