  !Source: The Ponders of Europe and America. !In a letter to the author, dated 16 Oct 1988, Pat Saupe wrote that in 1985 the only survivor of Amos Ponder Old timers is 85 years, dau of Everett? Hazel Kirkham of CA, no address. !See History of Lawrence Co, p 134 for considerable detail on the family of Amos Ponder and their move to Missouri. !Newsstory in Hickman Co. Times, dated 13 Dec 1989 notes that Amos settled Southwest of Doniphan, MO, and became a farmer and businessman there. The town of Ponder was named for his family.
