Undated memorandum of John S. Lawrence
"Abigail Birch Lawrence was a daughter of Joshua and Abigai
l (Udell)Birch and the wife of David Lawrence. She named one of her sons LionelUdell after Dr. Lionel Udell of Stonington, Connecticut, her grandfather(Later of Albert Phillips of Waukesha, Wisconsin)
"She was born at the site of the Catskill Mountain House (in Stonington,Connecticut? ) on 18 March 1757. She married David Lawrence on 2 Jan1777, and died at Stillwater, New York on 29 Mar 1842. She was aBaptist. Memoranda left by Judge John K. Porter.
"She was presumably buried beside her husband, David, but in 1907 thetombstone was missing. There is a neighborhood tradition that it wasdestroyed many years ago when a runaway horse broke into the enclosure."
