R. I. Holcombe's daughter, Lillian Maude, died on 9/13/1916. Sketchy information suggests she died of pregnancy complications. His granddaughter, Lillian Audrey McAnulty, d. 2007, remembered her grandfather playing a game of catch with her, possibly during the funeral for Lillian Maude.
