CHITWOOD, JAMES T., of Chitwood, Lincoln County, was born near Madison, Indiana, November 21, 1825, and is one of the pioneers of Oregon. He attended the first mass meeting in Oregon City, to organize the Republican party in Clackamas County, and has been an active member of conventions and committees.
