      Timothy Cain was a miner for several years until at least 1878. He travelled to Oban Kentucky Creek then onto Rocky River near Uralla. He lived there for several year with his wife and young family. He then moved onto Copes Creek Inverell and then Manilla where he became and farmer and grazier.
