- Known as Colonel Amos, he served in the Revolution from the LexingtonAlarm in 1775 down to the year 1781. At the time of his resignation in1781 he was Lieutenant-Colonel in command of the 18th Regt. of Ct.troops. (Which consisted chiefly of Simsbury men) Colonel Amos servedalso in a civil capacity as Deputy at Hartford for the town ofSimsbury.
