    • Edna E. High, 80, of Harrisville, went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 24, 2015, at her home.

      Born April 28, 1934 to Albert and Edna (Hasse) Kemnitz in Alpena, she was raised in Herron, Michigan. On August 21, 1954, she married Jack High in Herron. Jack's career allowed them to move around Southern Michigan before moving to Harrisville in 1961. Edna worked as a secretary for Alcona Elementary School for 21 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Lincoln, and of its Ladies Aid, where she had served as president. Edna enjoyed spending time with her family, was a great cook and made exceptional cinnamon rolls. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, and camping.

      She was preceded in death by three sisters, Joyce Wehofer, Marion Schultz, and Elaine Kemnitz, two brothers, Willis and Glenn Kemnitz, two sisters-in-law, Betty Lou High and Betty Jane High, and four brothers-in-law, John High, Marlin Bollenbacher, Bill Wehofer and Ron Thiem.

      Mrs. High is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Thursday, April 30, from 4-8 P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday, May 1, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Lincoln, from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Jacob Schwartz will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in Edna's name to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
