  • Notes
    • STORY AS TOLD BY JEROME SULLIVAN SR.:I SUPPOSE YOU HEARD THE ONE ABOUT THE YANKEE TROOPS COMING BY MAMMY CARNEY'S AND WANTING HER TO COOK THEM A MEAL. SHE SAID "I WON'T COOK FOR NO DAMN YANKEES". AND THEY HUNG HER UP TO SOME OPEN BEAMS AT THE HOME PLACE, BUT THEY LET HER DOWN BEFORE SHE WAS KILLED. SHE WAS, AS IS ALL THE FAMILY, REAL SPUNKY. GRANNY WENT TO A METHODIST CHURCH UP HER ONCE AND THE PASTOR TOLD HER HE DIDN'T LIKE THE SOUTH AND SHE TOLD HIM SHE DIDN'T LIKE THE NORTH AND NONE OF IT'S DAMN PREACHERS.
