  Biography Nichola was born in about 1709 in the Isle of Wight, Virginia Colony to parents Pierre "Peter" Fourre (aka Ford) and Catherine Astir d'Artemale of France. Nichola "Nicola" and her family was mentioned in the book Colonists of Carolina in the lineage of Hon. W.D. Humphrey in 1886.[1] Reference to her last name as Fourre is mentioned in the book Historical Southern Families. Volume I - Whitehead of Isle of Wight, page 243 bottom "VII. Ann, b. about 1730; m. (1) Jesse Williams, the son of Benjamin Williams and Nichola Fourre;" [2] Marriage Nichola Fourre (spelled Nicola in husbands will) is said to have been married according to the "Colonist of Carolina" book, in 1727 at Isle of Wight, Virginia to Benjamin Williams. Children Jesse Williams 1728– 1773 Hannah Williams 1730– 1778 Lott Williams 1732– 1757 Obediah Williams 1735– 1785 Uz Williams 1736– 1809 Benjamin Williams 1738– 1835 Ann Williams 1740– 1797 Mary Williams 1742-1814 James Williams 1744 Will of Husband Nicola was in a probate record.[3] Her husband Benjamin passed away in 1778 as supported by his will probated on 8 December 1778, proved by Nathan B. Williams and Lewis M. Williams. To wife Nicola; children: Benjamin, Ann Battle, Mary Williams, James Williams; niece Debro Best; son Obed Williams; son Uz Williams; daughter-in-law Anna Williams; grand-children: Sarah Williams, Hester Humphrey, Lot Williams, Hanna Williams, Senea Williams, Hill Williams, Jesse Williams, Uz Williams, children of my son Jesse Williams, deceased. To Benjamin Williams and Ann Battle, children of my son Lott Williams, deceased. Seilea, Ritta, William and Eli Cox, children of my daughter Hanna Cox, deceased. Exrs: sons Obed and Uz Williams friend Ephraim Battle. Bequeathal When Benjamin Williams, father of Jesse Williams, died in 1778, he left a legacy to his granddaughter, Hester Humphrey. (Ibid.)
