David Mims was born Jan 1, 1701 in St Peters Parish, New Kent, Virginia.[citation needed] He was the son of Thomas Mims b 1681 and Amelia Anne "Molly" Martin, b 1677, St Peters Parish, New Kent County, VA, d 1717 St Peters Parish.[citation needed] "Thomas Mims Jr & Mellyan Martin married the 10th Febry, 1698-9."[1] St Peter's Register of New Kent County, VA also lists these details of Thomas' family: p 25 - Thomas son of Thomas Mims born Febry ye 15th, 1707-8 p 27 - Benj. son of Tho. Mims, baptised June ye 13th, 1710. p 48 - Thomas Mims Jur & Mellyan Martin married the 10th Febry, 1698-9 P 48 - Lineal Mims & Anne Martin marryed ye 2d Jany, 1706-7 p 65 - Thomas Mims departed this life April ye 28th 1712. In 1726, David received a land grant in Henrico Co. As jurisdictions evolve those lands become part of Goochland, where David ultimately dies.[2] 1726, Oct 31st. David Mims 358 acs.
