David Mims Sr. was a Virginia colonist.
David Mims was born Jan 1, 1701 in St Peters Parish, New Kent, Virginia.[citation needed] He was the son of Thomas Mims b 1681 and Amelia Anne "Molly" Martin, b 1677, St Peters Parish, New Kent County, VA, d 1717 St Peters Parish.[citation needed]
"Thomas Mims Jr & Mellyan Martin married the 10th Febry, 1698-9."[1]

David had died by Oct of 1781 when his Will was proven.[2] He is buried in Mims Family Cemetery, Butler Place, Edgefield, South Carolina.[citation needed]
Research Notes
Goochland Co. forms out of Henrico in 1728. In 1726, David received a land grant in Henrico Co. As jurisdictions evolve those lands become part of Goochland, where David ultimately dies.[2]

1746. Goochland County, Virginia, Deed book 5 or 6, p. 130. William Weldy, of Goochland Co. And St. James Parish. Because of "Love for my g-dau Elizabeth Mims & my dau Agnis Mims & her husband David Mims, grant to said dau Agnes Mims and her husband David Mims during there lifetime, & after their decease to my g-dau Elizabeth Mims, their dau, tract N.
