  Biography Joseph was born in 1705. He passed away in 1727. Died in Ben Franklin's arms.[1] Description "a pious, sensible young man, of great integrity"[1] "the best of our set"[1] Both his birth and death are recorded in Quaker meeting records, but his marriage is not and there is no indication that Frances Read (his wife) was ever a Quaker.
