  Information from Alida St.John's church records and Junction City Sentinel of August 27,1908. Mr.Jacobs was native of Switzerland, born December 26,1841 and came to America, homesteaded in Dickinson County in 1870.He Married Maria Elizabeth Strauss June 17, 1876 in Junction City, Geary County, Kansas. In 1880 they located on a farm in the Upland area of Dickinson County where he resided until his death. He is survived by three children of the home, Charles, Elizabeth and Mary. His wife(Mary) died nine months previously. He died at the age of 66 years.
