Notes - Using the will of Charles Cox and research found on the Cox Family Website http://www.coxhistory.com/#Introduction I have attempted to recreate the family with known facts

Colonial Settlement
Charles Cox, an Englishman, arrived in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1741 from the Bahamas or from Charleston, South Carolina and was soon granted 640 acres of Onslow County wilderness from the Royal Proprietors on behalf of the English Crown. The consideration of that land grant was that he clear 18 acres within three years and make the property his home. He met these conditions.
The first 6 children listed are the same names given in the will of Charles cox attached as a memory. The 2nd Moses listed appears to be from the next generation. Further research is needed to confirm or dispute this. The will also mentions a son-in-law John Boston which does not attach itself to any of the daughter listed.
I have no solid proof of birth and death dates. Most dates are based on Wills which can be written several years before death.
