  Biography This profile is part of the Estes Name Study. On 22 June 1722, Silvester Estice is shown as an adjacent landowner on a deed granted to Robert Farish/Parish of Essex Co, VA for 775 acres on the south side of a branch of Mattaponi River & crossing several branches of Rappa. River. Spouses No records have been located to indicate the name of his spouse(s). Perhaps he married Caroline? (b ca 1686). Perhaps he married Rebecca Dunscomb (1705 Bermuda - 1729)[1] Legal Records He moved to old Bertie Co, NC by 1722. He moved to North Carolina prior to 1734. On 7 Nov 1734 Sylvester witnessed a deed between Robert Ivey of Edgecombe District & Jasper Stuart of Upper Parish, Bertie District. On 8 Aug 1741 in Bertie, NC, John Spann and wife Mary sold to Silvester Estes for 100 lbs, 160 acres in Upper Parish of Bertie County on NS Morattock River by patent to Spann for 160 acres granted 4 Aug 1730; adjacent to John Glover, Thomas Bradford, "John Spanns former corner". Witness: Jasper Stuart, jurat; David Rozar, Richard Cross. August Court, 1741. Benjamin Hill, CC. "John Spann and wife Mary, to Silvester Estes, 8/8/1741 160 acres in Upper Parish of Bertie County on NS Morattock River adjacent to John Glover, Thomas Bradford, "John Spanns former corner". Granted 8/4/1730. Witness: Jasper Stuart, jurat; David Rozar, Richard Cross, Auguest Court, 1741"[2] On 30 July 1754, Sylvester was a witness to William Glover's will in Northampton, NC. Sylvester's son, Ephraim, was in Granville County, North Carolina by 1740. Thomas was in Orange County, North Carolina by the 1760s. Death Sylvester died some time after 1758, probably in Bertie or Northampton, NC. In 1754 he was still in Northampton Co, NC where he witnessed a will.
