Notes |
- Lord of Pontefract, Baron of Halton, & Constable of Chester. When Robert de Lacy, Lord of Pontefract (RIN 2816) died on 21 Jun 1193 without any heir, all his Lacy estates went to his cousin, Albreda (RIN 839), the wife of Richard FitzEustace, Constable of Chester (RIN 838). According to "The Roll of the House of Lacy", there has been much confusion between this John and his son, John the crusader. Many sources list Alice de Mandeville as the wife of this John. According to "The Roll of the House of Lacy", she was the wife of John the crusader.
