  He [John Tiptoft] married, 3rdly, circa September 1467, at Ludlow, Salop, Elizabeth, widow of Sir Roger CORBET, of Moreton Corbet, Salop (died shortly before 16 June 1467), sister and heir of Walter HOPTON, of Hopton, Salop, daughter of Thomas HOPTON, of the same, by Eleanor, sister and (in her issue) coheir of Sir William Lucy, of Newington, Kent, and Richard's Castle, co. Hereford, daughter of Sir Walter Lucy, of the same. He died intestate 18 October 1470, aged 43, and was buried in the Church of the Black Friars by Ludgate. M.I. there. Effigy (with two of his wives) and monument in Ely Cathedral. His widow married, 3rdly, before 7 December 1471, as his 2nd wife, Sir William STANLEY, K.G. (younger brother of Thomas, 1st EARL OF DERBY), who was found guilty of treason for his support of Perkin Warbeck and beheaded, 16 February 1494/5, on Tower Hill. She died 22 June 1498.
