    • Daughter of King Clovis I and Queen Clotilda, Chrotilda was married offby her brothers to Amalaric, King of the Visigoths. He mistreated herbecause she was a Catholic (the Visigothiuc rulers were Arian). She sentto her brother King Childebert of Paris for aide; he quickly had Amalarickilled and asked his sister to return to Paris with him. For somereason, Chrotilda died on the journey.
