Notes |
- Chramn was the rebellious son of King Chlotar I, who, after commitingmany crimes in his father's kingdom, went to Paris, the kingdom of hisuncle Childebert I. There, the two conspired to kill Chlotar. Chlotar, after learning of this alliance, sent three of his sons Gunthar, Guntram, and Charibert to defeat Chramn. When Childebert died in 588, Chlotarbecame sole ruler of all the Franks. At this time, Chramn sought audiencewith his father, but it was denied, and he went into personal exile inBrittany. In 560, Chlotar, furious with his son, attacked Brittany anddefeated Chramn, who was then executed on the order of his father.
