After Hermanfrid defeatedBerthar in battle, he invited King Theuderic of Metz to help him defeatBaderic in return for half of the kingdom. Baderic was defeated andkilled, but the kingdom was kept by Hermanfrid. In 532, Theuderic got hisrevenge when he, his son Theudebert, and his brother Chlotar invaded andtook Thuringia.
