Notes |
- In an article in the William and Mary College Quarterly Historical
Magazine of April, 1922, relative to the acceptance by Fairfax County,
VA, of a portrait of George JOHNSTON to hang in the courthouse, the
statement is made concerning JOHNSTON "In the deed books are conveyances
of land with which he was connected. The will books contain his last
will and testament, written in 1766 within a few months of his
death....the will books also contain the inventory of his estate..."
Sara Ann JOHNSTON, daughter of George JOHNSTON and Sara McCARTY, married
to Robert Hanson HARRISON
A query
in 1928 said the Sara was "the granddaughter of William BALL of
Lancaster".
Mentioned with her husband George Johnston, Sr, in the will of her brother Dennis McCarty in 1757
