  • Notes
    • Frederick was born before 1785, probably in Pennsylvania. He died in 1826.

According to Bruce Varner[1]: "Fredrick would likely have moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania and/or Maryland after the French and Indian War (1754-1763) as a child with his father and his father's family. The end of the French and Indian War opened land to the south in what is now North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

As an adult Fredrick moved to Georgia in about 1790 .[2] and settled next to John Varner's known son Matthew Varner and presumed son George Varner in Oglethorpe County.

Frederick became a wealthy man but was financially ruined late in life.[2]
      Residence

      1800 in Oglethorpe Co, Georgia[3]

On Feb. 2, 1805 Fredrick Varner of Oglethorpe Co. is granted lot #148, in the 5th district (Present Askew District) of Georgia 202 ½ acres from land lottery. Fredrick remains in Oglethorpe County.

In 1807 the area becomes newly formed Morgan County, Georgia

On Jan. 22, 1808 Fredrick gives this property to George Varner "my son George Varner, Junr" (Deed Book A, Page 90)

On Aug. 22, 1808 George Varner sells same to an Elijah Haralson[4]

August 7, 1820 Frederick remains in Lexington, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Owns 13 slaves.[5]
