Notes:
Isaac traveled to the California Gold Rush in 1849 and returned from there to Macon County, Illinois where he purchased a lot of farm land with the money he made in the Gold Rush in California. He was one of the first settlers in that part of
the country.
About 1869 he settled in Marysville Twp., Miami County, Kansas with his wife and family. Many of his adult children followed him and settled on farms in the area also.
He died at the home of his son, Benton Gruver on 16 Oct 1885. Old Hillsdale Cemetery records in Hillsdale, Miami County, Kansas listed his date of death as 16 Oct 1886..( It was October 16, 1886 per Old Hillsdale Cemetery, Hillsdale, Miami
County, Kansas records).
For this, our Family Tree, I will go with the Cemetery Records until I find something more on Isaac's date of birth. This is what was said about him in the County Paper: "Isaac Gruver, Sr., was one of nature's noblemen, honest, kind , brave,
good and charitable. Note: The aforesaid was taken from "Our Heritage, The History of Hillsdale, Kansas (book 1) 1961. The author is Don Everhart .
Issac married Nanchy RARICK on 24 Apr 1831 in Fairfield County, Ohio. Nanchy was born in 1817 in Pennsylvania; died on 28 Jan 1880 in Hillsdale, Miami County, Kansas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

SOLOMON GROOVER, Greenfield TWP., page 45, Section 1, Lot 34, 14 Acres; Section 1, Lot 35, 95.9 Acres. Atlas of 1873, Huron County, Ohio.: Estate of S. GROOVER, Greenfield TWP., page 31, Section 1, Lot 34, 14 Acres; Section 1, Lot 35, 86 Acres. The family is listed as GROOVER however, I am certain the correct spelling should be GRUVER. Lidia is Solomon Gruver's Mother and she is living with him in 1850 and is also not spelled correctly. Her correct spelling for Solomon's Mother is LYDIA GRUVER. That is the way I spell it, at least. Ellen Louise Gruver-Magee There are 2 other males living with them at the time of the 1850 Census , also. They are MILTON ANDREWS, age 16, occupation: Labourer, born in Ohio. and WESLEY ANDREWS age 18, occupation: Grocer, born in Ohio.
