From Halifax County, NC Deed Book 15, page 83 dated 10 August, 1784--William Branch, Sr. witnessed the deed from Brittain Gulledge to Henry Overstreet, land which adjoined Joel Dilliard's property. This may not be related at all... date is after birth, but could be a clue.
