Catherine Baylor, wife of Jacob Baylor, by Anderson Anderson vs. Jacob Baylor-Lived faithfully with defendant in Virginia and Pennsylvania and is now aged and infirm, having raised twelve children.
Is this a divorce or is she in a nursing home needing health care?
Most of the first two generations and some of the third are buried as Gisch's. In court records we find Gish/Kish and Gisch.
Catherine Gisch married Johann Jacob Buehler Baylor Sr. Jacob Baylor was son of Michael Baylor from Germany. He married Catherine Gish.
Owned a farm in the vicinity of White Oak which he sold in 1772. After this he is living in Codorus Twp, York Co, where his father Michael had taken up several hundred acres in grants from the Penns. Jacob receives part of this from his father in addition takes out a patent for 275 acres additional. In 1792 John sell his Codorus lands and in the same year appears on the records of Augusta Co, Va. he located here on Middle River near Churchville.
Jacob Byler II born about 1740 Berks Co, Pa died on his farm, sourth of Barnardsville, Buncombe, NC The farm was on Big Ivey River. Jacob made gunpowder for the revolution war and died in an explosion in his powder mill on his farm. Jacob is buried in the Burleson Cemetery on his farm.
Children in his Will written 1800: sons - George, Jacob, Martin and Christian; daughters - Anna Maria, Mary Fisher, Elizabeth Neider, Christiana Zimmerman and Barbara Keller.
