  Biography Johannes "Hans" was born in 1702. He passed away in 1794.[1] Hans married Solome "Sarah" Ruffner abt 1719 and they had 3 children while in Switzerland; Johannes b:1719, Hans "John" born 1720 and Christian Ruffner b:1721. The family then immigrated to the British American Colonies and in 1724 they had Alice b:1724 in Cumberland, Virginia, and finally Anna b:1725. Immigration was recorded on 21 Sep 1732 on the Pink Plaisance, arriving into Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. [2] Zimmerman in English translates to Carpenter, which some of the children adopted. January 28, 1743 - Name Change via Naturalization [3] Research Notes A will showing another John Zimmerman seems to be for a different individual who died prior to 1777.
