The family then immigrated to the British American Colonies and in 1724 they had Alice b:1724 in Cumberland, Virginia, and finally Anna b:1725.
Immigration was recorded on 21 Sep 1732 on the Pink Plaisance, arriving into Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. [2]

Research Notes
A will showing another John Zimmerman seems to be for a different individual who died prior to 1777. Will for a different John Zimmerman: C:481 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G99B-JGYG John Zimmerman written in German. Written 18 April 1772. Contains phrases: "mein Weib Maria" [my wife Mary]. ".....Hans Zimmermann meinen sohn Hans Zimmerman" [... Hans Zimmermann my son Hans Zimmermann" Signed as Hans Zimmerman with his mark "H" of Paxton Township, Lancaster County. Proved 5 April 1777 I don't believe this to be the correct John Zimmerman.
The Zimmerman's who immigrated and changed their name to the translated Carpenter, were often buried in the Carpenters Graveyard. [4]

? "On January 28, 1743, in the Court of Orange County (created in 1734 out of Spotsylvania) John Zimmerman, alias Carpenter, was naturalized. In thus changing his name from Zimmerman to "Carpenter" he followed the example of an older relative who came to Virginia in 1721, and acquiesced in the practice of English Court official in translating into its English equivalent."
